Assoc. Prof. Akif Erbin received his doctor of medicine degree from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, in 2006. He completed his residency in urology at the University of Health Sciences, Haseki Training and Research Hospital in 2013, obtaining the title of Urology Specialist. In 2020, he was promoted to Associate Professor of Urology. Between 2020 and 2024, he served as a urologist and faculty member at Haseki Training and Research Hospital. He is currently affiliated with the University of Health Sciences, Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital, where he continues his academic and clinical practice.
Dr. Erbin has authored 80 peer-reviewed international publications, mostly indexed in SCIE journals, with his research primarily focusing on uro-oncology and endourology. His clinical and scientific interests include urogenital cancer surgery (laparoscopic and robotic approaches), MRI-targeted prostate biopsies, and endourological procedures, such as RIRS, percutaneous nephrolithotomy (supine and ECIRS PNL techniques), and laser surgeries, including HoLEP, ThuFLEP prostatectomy, and en bloc resection of bladder tumors. He serves as an active reviewer for 35 international peer-reviewed journals indexed in the SCIE and currently holds the position of Editor-in-Chief of the Haseki Medical Journal.
